Native American Moccasins

Native American Indian Moccasins are usually made of soft leather stitched together with sinew. Though the basic creation of Native American Incdian Moccasins was similar through most of North America, moccasin patterns were different in nearly every tribe, this enabled Native Americans to tell each other's tribal affiliation from the design of their shoes.

Tribal differences included the cut of the moccasins, the extensive beadwork, quillwork, and painted designs many Indian people perfused on their shoes. In a few tribes theyhardened the rawhide used for the sole for added durability. They also lined the inside of the moccasin with rabbit fur, sheepskin, fox fur, etc. for added warmth.
