Native American Squash Blossoms

Unmistakable the world over, Squash Blossom Necklaces are a Southwestern must-have for a night on the town or a day at the rodeo. Alltribes™ has been offering the highest quality, handmade American Indian Squash Blossom Necklaces for over 40 years at our storefront located in Gilbert, Arizona and for over 15 years online!

Squash Blossom is a term which has long been applied to this unique, handmade necklace produced by Southwestern Indians. It was first made by the Navajo and later adopted by the Zuni and Hopi Indians, who added their cultural creativity to the original. Although the Navajo are the best known creators of this spectacular American Indian Necklace, the Hopis and Zunis have also added and substituted other types of design for the Squash Blossom so that their distinct tribal styles, such as Inlaid figures, have evolved. The Navajo Silversmith has maintained a purity of representation combining beautiful Turquoise, Roysten and Sleeping Beauty among many others, with masterful Silverwork. Navajo craftsmen skills showcase the Naja, the central crescent shape pendant that symbolizes the ability to ward off evil spirits. Early photographs, dated about 1890, show the squash blossom worn by Navajos. An outstanding American Indian Necklace bar none!

Take your time and enjoy the amazing beauty of these Squash Blossom Necklaces and you will see why we are the online leader in Southwestern jewelry and artifacts!
