A knockout arrangement of Turquoise, sky blue Sleeping Beauty Turquoise, and Red gold Coral branch, set in nickel silver for a high shine that won't tarnish. Traditional hand stamped designs surround the vibrant stones with style. Made in our shop. It measures 3" by 2", and the keeper on the back of the buckle will hold up to a 1-1/2" belt. In Indian folklore it is said that there was once a chief with turquoise colored skin. One day he was running from his enemies in the hot desert. Whenever he stopped to rest, his perspiration ran onto the ground, collected in rocks and became turquoise.
The Sleeping Beauty mine is located near Globe, Arizona. Its turquoise is noted for its solid, light blue color with no matrix. Sleeping Beauty turquoise is the favorite of the Zuni Pueblo silversmiths for use in petite point, needlepoint, and inlay jewelry. This mine is one of the largest in North America and is still operating.
