HEROES of the WEST Wells Fargo Badge 1937-BG
This is a well made collectible of the old west. Henry Wells and William Fargo founded the Wells, Fargo, & Co. out in San Francisco in the midst of the California gold rush. They provided banking services and financial security for people out in the Wild West during the times of run away outlaws and train robbers. In the 1860's Wells Fargo gained fame for its company logo of a stagecoach. And, in 1861, the company ran the western track of the Pony Express. Wells Fargo survived the Wild West and its founding fathers, and is still in operations today. A true piece of American History, this Wells Fargo Agent badge was made from cast White Metal. It's strong and light so it can be worn easily on your shirt, coat, or jacket. It is 2-1/4" by 2-1/4". This replica has been cast from a mold made from the original.Even though the Federales of old Mexico informed Bogie that they needed no "stinking badges", those of us who spent our early years fascinated with the old west have always had an interest in the tin stars worn by our heroes. The men who kept law and order in Dodge City, Tombstone, Deadwood and other settlements in the wild, wild west will always ride through our memories, raising dust and gunning down the bad guys. We are proud to present this "Heroes of the West" collector badge. The original badges were hand cut from metal and old coins in prisons in Arizona, New Mexico and Texas over one hundred years ago. |
