Fransisco GomezFransisco comes from Michoacan down in Mexico. He began his career as a silversmith 35 years ago (his sister Josephine also works as a silversmith). Francisco worked with silver and turquoise for many, many years and he became bored with the same old ways of showcasing turquoise. So, three years ago he began his career as a master carver. Entirely self-taught, Fransisco carves the turquoise with skill, precision, and patience like a Zen master. Francisco often uses traditional southwestern and Native American imagery for his inspiration. |
