Turquoise Earrings

Turquoise is today in wide use among Native American Indian artists of the Southwest, and it forms one of their most cherished possessions. As in the past, it finds a ceremonials as well as an ornamental application. The Pueblo Indians of the Southwest find great pleasure in turquoise and seldom is a well to do representative seen without ornaments of turquoise. Especially upon gala occasions and during ceremonies is this turquoise stone in evidence, and both men and women bedizen themselves with quantities of it. Turquoise is most commonly fashioned into discoidal and cylindrical beads into various sized turquoise earrings. Turquoise is utilized into really beautiful turquoise earrings and can be fairly raw and or intricate. Depending on the tribe a turquoise earring can be inlaid as in the Zuni work, or bulkier as in the Navajos work.
