Silver Opal Earrings are jewelry attached to the ear through a piercing in the earlobe or some other external part of the ear, with the exception of clip earrings, which clip onto the earlobe. Silver Opal Earrings are worn by both sexes. Traditionally, earrings such as a pairs of Silver Earrings and Opal Earrings were worn primarily by females; however, in the western cultures of recent decades, ear piercing has become popular among males in North America, Europe, and Asia.

The earrings size is limited by the physical capacity of the earlobe to hold the earring without tearing; however, heavy earrings worn over extended periods of time may lead to stretching of the earlobe and the piercing.
