Devils Claw Steps and Willow Pima Basket with Lid Mid 20th Century
This handcrafted Pima basket is a superior example of Southwestern skill & creativity. This hand coiled bowl basket showcases the artistry and symmetry of an unknown American Indian basket maker. Hand coiled and hand woven, in a traditional step design, this lidded basket was created sometime in the 1940's-1960's. This unique American Indian collectible is in very good condition. There are a few broken stitches & there is discoloration on the lid and inside & outside the basket. The coils & stitches are extremely tight even though this Native American basket is over 50 years old! The natural color of the grasses have aged to a beautiful patina & the lid still fits perfectly to the basket. This Pima hand coiled bowl basket measures about 6" wide and stands about 4" deep. Own an original! This one of a kind basket is a true Southwestern classic and a Native American made collectible. This would work well surrounded by other Native American collectibles or as an addition to your basket collection.
