Zuni Malachite Coral Sterling Silver Necklace Bracelet Ring
From the Heart of the Indian Nation! This set was hand crafted in the Land of Enchantment in the gorgeous mountain country where the pine forests and southwestern deserts meet. That gorgeous place most likely served as a muse to the skilled Zuni artist who masterfully hand crafted this gorgeous jewelry set. The necklace, bracelet, ring, and earrings each feature flower images created by hand cut pieces of genuine Mother of Pearl and Coral inlaid in shimmering Sterling Silver casings. The necklace and bracelet feature hand cut pieces of gorgeous genuine Malachite that were hand etched with fine line details to give the look of natural green leaves. The necklace is completely adjustable with the hand made Sterling Silver box link chain. Its total length is 21-1/2". The bracelet is 1-7/8" wide at the center, and it'll fit a 6" to a 6-1/2" wrist. The ring is 3/4" wide at the center. The post earrings are 3/4" long. Signed in script by the Zuni artist, Sonny Wallace.
MALACHITE comes from copper ore, thus exuding a green appearance. Its origin dates back to ancient Egypt, and, as with several other precious stones, was believed to possess magical powers. It has been found in Zaire, France, England, Rhodesia, New Mexico, and Arizona. It is rare and highly esteemed by mineral collectors. Malachite is used for making beads, carved figurines, and cabochons (cut stones). However, larger quantities have been used in certain palace walls and buildings in Russia.
