Wholesale Lot 1/2 lb. of Genuine rough blue Turquoise nuggets.
This Turquoise collection has it all! It has samples of: Sleeping Beauty Turquoise, Lander's Blue Turquoise, Kingman Turquoise, Number 8 Nevada Turquoise, Royston Turquoise, and Fox Turquoise. This Turquoise collection is over twenty years old featuring a lot of Turquoise that can't be found anywhere else! This Turquoise once belonged to an old miner and we received this 5,000 pound Turquoise collection by way of his widow. This collection has some rare and valuable stuff. The Number 8 mine in Nevada closed down years ago making the Number 8 Nevada Turquoise highly collectible. The owner of the Lander's Blue Turquoise Mine extracted every last scrap of that Turquoise (which was a relatively small quantity) making Lander's Blue a rare and one of the most sought after varieties of Turquoise in the world. This Turquoise is perfect for making cabochons. Check out the fourth photo below to see some of the cabochons that we were able to make. A silver dollar has been included in the photos to give a sense of scale. You will be getting a half pound worth of this untouched rough Turquoise (see the first three pictures) at $40. This is such a mix of a wide variety of Turquoise, and since the old miner's no longer with us so there's no telling the origin of most of this great looking Turquoise. Don't miss out on this incredible opportunity! Each stone features its own natural sky-blue and green hues.
This Turquoise has been cut out of the stabilizer it was in leaving broad smooth facets and angles. These stones are great for making inlay jewelry, turquoise mosaics, or even small cabs. This is like a blank canvas. The possibilities are endless, let your imagination run wild! You will be getting 1/2 pound from the genuine rough cut Turquoise pictured below. Size and color vary within a sky-blue spectrum of shapes and colors. On average the pieces are 1/2" long in one direction and can be as large as 2" inch or occasionally as small as 1/8 of an inch with varying thicknesses and profiles.
There are many legends about Turquoise; The Pima consider it to bring good fortune and strength and that it helped overcome illness. The Zuni believe that blue turquoise was male and of the sky and green turquoise was female and of the earth. Pueblo Indians thought that its color was stolen from the sky. In Hopi legend the lizard who travels between the above and the below, excretes turquoise and that the stone can hold back floods. The Apache felt that turquoise on a gun or bow made it shoot straight. The Navajo consider it as good fortune to wear and believe it could appease the Wind Spirit. |
