Although 99% of this material is Turquoise and block Turquoise; Lapis, Malachite, Magnesite, and more may have found its way into this pile as the by-product of cabochon production and carving. Each stone features its own natural colors and shapes. Many pieces are carved into geometric shapes and have been drilled for bead work or heishi and never used. This mix of chip stone is perfect for creating unique hand made inlay jewelry or ground to a uniform grit to make fetish pottery, or incredible mosaics. This is like a blank canvas. The Apache felt that turquoise on a gun or bow made it shoot straight. The Navajo consider it as good fortune to wear and believe it could appease the Wind Spirit.
