Wagons Ho! Oregon Trail Covered Wagon MODEL 2 for 1 3500-CL
You'll be ready for the western frontier with this one! This covered wagon model was made the old fashioned way- by hand, just like the real one's of the 19th century. This well made model was made from genuine wood giving it a rustic look. It has primed canvas stretched over the top. A miniature shovel, flour sack, and barrel complete the full look of this model. It is 4-3/4" tall, 8-1/4" long, and 3-5/8" wide. Imported. This one comes from the old Apache Turquoise & Case Co. trading post. They used to be one of our main suppliers running out of Phoenix, Arizona, and after a few decades the owner decided to retire from the business. Richard was lucky and fast enough to buy up his old stock leaving us with a giant treasure of high quality items.
Toys have had a place in human history since the beginning of civilization. The people of Ancient Babylonia & Sumeria played board games, and at the same time, the people of Ancient Egypt played with stone marbles. Then in 1000 BC, the Chinese started flying kites, and the Ancient Greeks started playing with yo-yos. In 969, the people Asia start using playing cards. Later, in the 1840's, the first manufactured, mass produced dolls hit the American markets. Then in 1902 Teddy Bears, named after President Theodore Roosevelt, were mass-produced and became widely popular. 1943 marks the creation of the Slinky, and Legos came in from Holland six years later. And, 1952 brought the first appearance of Mr. Potato Head. Toys and games have always been a fascination with people helping us play, laugh, and create since the beginning. |
