Dress yourself in traditional beauty. This pendant was finely hand-crafted out of a generous portion of shimmering Sterling Silver. Masterfully hand-cut pieces of natural Sleeping Beauty Turquoise offer the beautiful blue colors of the sky and are placed in a traditional needlepoint design. Each piece of Turquoise has been set in an individually hand-made Sterling Silver bezel that was soldered to the hand-cut Sterling Silver sheet. Hand-twisted Sterling Silver wire and hand-made Sterling Silver dots give this an extra glimmer. Suspended from a complimentary chain, this pendant is 2-1/8" long and 1-1/2" wide. The Zuni believe that blue turquoise was male and of the sky and green turquoise was female and of the earth. Pueblo Indians thought that its color was stolen from the sky. In Hopi legend the lizard who travels between the above and the below, excretes turquoise and that the stone can hold back floods. The Apache felt that turquoise on a gun or bow made it shoot straight. The Navajo consider it as good fortune to wear and believe it could appease the Wind Spirit.
