This is a beautiful bolo tie. This Native American Sterling Silver Overlay Bolo tie is a true work of art. It features a silver on silver overlay with a traditional Native American Kachina design made by none other than Calvin Peterson (ONE OF THE BEST!). The detail on this piece is amazing! It has been perfectly hand made down to the smallest detail! The Kachina design is 3 3/4" long. This bolo comes with a 38" cord with sterling silver cone tips. Signed by the artist and stamped Sterling.
Overlay is created by "sweating" or soldering, two pieces of silver together. The top piece contains a design element which is meticulously cut out of silver. The bottom piece is oxidized and often textured to produce a contrasting background. Then carefully filed, buffed and polished to produce this fine finish.
