Tommy masterfully hand cut traditional Navajo Rug Design out of Sterling Silver and finely overlaid the designs onto the Sterling Silver tips. Silver on Silver, you cannot go wrong with that. A complimentary watch face and an adjustable stretch band have been included for your convenience. These watch tips are 1-1/8" by 1-1/4". Stamped Sterling and Signed by T. Singer. Thomas Singer, is known throughout the world for his jewelry work. His overlay pieces incorporate the most traditional of Navajo design - designs that have endured for years and years. Many of these designs are of Navajo rugs and other traditional designs. Jeweler Thomas Singer is a Navajo Indian from Winslow, Arizona. Tommy Singer states, "Every piece is made with the meanings from my traditional ways - the Navajo way of living, my father was a silversmith. He taught me and wanted me to continue this trade. It was by father's dream that I learn to silversmith so that I can continue his belief". Overlay is created by "sweating" or soldering, two pieces of silver together. The top piece contains a design element which is meticulously cut out of silver. The bottom piece is oxidized and often textured to produce a contrasting background. Then carefully filed, buffed and polished to produce this fine finish. We understand the true value and nature of hand crafted Indian art.
