Native American Genuine Turquoise, Coral, Sterling Silver, & Gold Traditional Treasure Necklace by Tommy Singer.

This is an exceptional design from Navajo jewelry artist Tommy Singer. Genuine Turquoise beads have been artfully arranged in graduated sizes along with ornate, Gold fill Sterling Silver tube beads. The gold and silver tube beads feature the masterfully hand cut overlaid designs that made Tommy Singer so famous. An artful variety of colored gemstones including Coral, Spiny Oyster, Black Onyx, Lapis, Agates, and Charoite intermix in dazzling patterns with shimmering Sterling Silver bench beads. Made by Tommy Singer, this necklace is of the highest quality - a wearable work of Navajo art. These necklaces are 21" in length and signed T. Singer. Gemstone arrangements will vary slightly, no two treasure necklaces are exactly the same. You'll getting one from the group of Tommy Singer necklaces pictured below. An extension chain can be included with this item for $5.00 per inch. Let us know how long you'd like your extension chain in the 'comment box' as you check out.

Thomas Singer is known throughout the world for his jewelry work. His overlay pieces incorporate the most traditional of Navajo design - designs that have endured for many years. Many of these designs are inspired by Navajo rugs and other traditional designs. Jeweler Thomas Singer is a Navajo Indian from Winslow, Arizona. Tommy Singer states, "Every piece is made with the meanings from my traditional ways - the Navajo way of living. My father was a silversmith. He taught me and wanted me to continue this trade. It was my father's dream that I learn to silversmith so that I can continue his belief."

There are many legends about Turquoise; The Pima consider it to bring good fortune and strength and that it helped overcome illness. The Zuni believe that blue turquoise was male and of the sky and green turquoise was female and of the earth. Pueblo Indians thought that its color was stolen from the sky. In Hopi legend the lizard who travels between the above and the below, excretes turquoise and that the stone can hold back floods. The Apache felt that turquoise on a gun or bow made it shoot straight. The Navajo consider it as good fortune to wear and believe it could appease the Wind Spirit.

We understand the true value and nature of hand crafted Indian art. And, we recognize it's important to know that the artist is truly a member of a Native American tribe. So, to ensure you that this is the real deal, a Certificate of Authenticity has been included with this item.
