Tommy Singer Native American Genuine Gaspeite Overlay Sterling Silver Bolo Tie.

Navajo artisan Tommy Singer is known world wide for his silver art work. He uses top grade Sterling Silver and number one grade stones in all his work. His silver work is an absolute masterpiece of overlay. This unique bolo features a hand cut cabochon of genuine Gaspeite, something a little different for Singer's work and something you won't see often. Singer rarely deviates from setting his jewelry with Sleeping Beauty Turquoise so consider this a real one of a kind, possibly the only one ever made. The cord itself is 8 strands of braided leather. Tommy Singer's work is so popular that it is copied by many artist's, this is your chance to own an original Silver overlay masterpiece made by the master of silversmithing. Total length of the cord is 40" and it comes with Singer's custom made silver overlay bolo tips that match the bolo perfectly. The Sterling Silver Bolo is 2" wide by 2-3/8" tall. Signed Thomas Singer and stamped Sterling.

Thomas Singer is known throughout the world for his jewelry work. His overlay pieces incorporate the most traditional of Navajo design - designs that have endured for many years. Many of these designs are inspired by Navajo rugs and other traditional designs. Jeweler Thomas Singer is a Navajo Indian from Winslow, Arizona. Tommy Singer states, "Every piece is made with the meanings from my traditional ways - the Navajo way of living. My father was a silversmith. He taught me and wanted me to continue this trade. It was my father's dream that I learn to silversmith so that I can continue his belief."

Overlay is created by "sweating" or soldering two pieces of silver together. The top piece contains a design element which is meticulously hand cut out of silver. The bottom piece is oxidized and often textured with stamping to produce a contrasting background. Once together the work is carefully filed, buffed, and polished to produce this fine finish.

Gaspeite is Nickel Magnesium Iron Carbonate, is in the Calcite group, and is found near deposits of Nickel Sulfide. The brilliant green color has given it great value as a gemstone. Gaspeite is a rare mineral found in significant amounts only in Canada and Australia. It gets the name Gaspeite from the Gaspé Peninsula in Quebec, Canada.

We understand the true value and nature of hand crafted Indian art. And, we recognize that it is important to know that the artist is truly a member of a Native American tribe. So, to ensure you that this is the real deal, a Certificate of Authenticity has been included with this item.
