This necklace is a real beauty. It is a gorgeous piece of hand-strung Navajo Indian jewelry. This necklace has been hand-strung with ten strands of beautiful 6mm beads of stabilized reconstituted Turquoise. These Turquoise beads have been strung back-to-back to create the flowing look of Turquoise. Capping the strands of Turquoise are Sterling Silver filigreed barrels. Each end of this necklace is dressed with a Sterling Silver cone and fastens with a hook-eye and comb clasp. Bench beads make up 2-3/8" of length between each barrel and cone. This fine piece of Turquoise jewelry is 28" long, including the box link extension chain, which is 4". Additional length can be added to the chain at $5 per inch. Strung in our shop by a Navajo artist. You will be receiving one of the items pictured below.

Among those who have worn it are the Persians, Tibetans, Greeks, Romans, Aztecs, Incas and of course the Native Americans of our own Southwest, who have been mining and wearing it since the time of Christ. Turquoise has decorated the thrones of Kings, been inlaid in the crowns of royalty and appeared in the crown jewels of many countries. During the 15th century the Queen of France gave a gold ring set with Turquoise to King James IV of Scotland as a pledge of friendship. When Queen Elizabeth of England was married, her gift from the President of Mexico was an exact replica of a prehistoric Nahuate (Aztec) brooch of gold inlaid with Turquoise.
