Sterling Silver Pendant Man in the Maze Silver Gold Beaded Turquoise Necklace.

Dress yourself with a hand made work of wearable art! This necklace features a Sterling Silver and Jewelers Gold pendant with a traditional Native American Man in the Maze design in jeweler's gold. The pendant hangs from a beaded strand of genuine Turquoise hand strung by Navajo artist Berlinda Begay. Sterling Silver beads add shine to the Turquoise nuggets and each end is finished with a Sterling Silver cone and clasp. The pendant was hand cut by master silversmith J R Jackson. Made in our shop. The pendant is about 2-1/2" long, 1-7/8" wide, signed by Jackson and stamped Sterling. The Turquoise necklace is 20" in length. Turquoise nuggets will vary slightly in each piece.

Overlay is created by "sweating" or soldering two pieces of silver together. The top piece contains a design element which is meticulously hand cut out of silver. The bottom piece is oxidized and often textured with stamping to produce a contrasting background. Once together the work is carefully filed, buffed, and polished to produce this fine finish.

There is a Pima Indian legend that explains when a person is born into this world, they enter a maze of life. The entrance is at the top where Se-eh-ha (Elder Brother) is waiting to show the way. The legend tells of the dead ends, detours and obstacles. It's the struggle to understand what can affect the physical, emotional, and spiritual growth that can guide them through the maze. At each turn, there is an opportunity to understand and appreciate the cycle of life, and to gain strength to move toward their goals. If the path is traveled in harmony and with a balance with nature, the legend says that dreams and ambitions will be found at the center of the maze, where E-e-thoi (Sun God) waits. He then passes them on to the next world.
