Pre-40s, South American RAINFOREST Hunters Bolo 2860
This is a true collector's item! This one looks to be packing some fifty years in age, but we aren't 100% sure about that. Take home a piece of the rainforest. This a bolo that hunters use in the rainforest to capture large game. It's made from braided genuine leather cords with three raw hide covered medicine balls at the ends. The hunters use these bolos by slinging them into the air like a boomerang, the medicine balls twirl like helicopter blades, and then they wrap around the animal's legs tripping it up. It's archaic but it gets the job done. Of course, this bolo is meant for display purposes only. It is 68" long. Imported. Don't miss out on this once in a lifetime opportunity! The objects man makes are called artifacts, and every artifact, whether it is beautiful or ugly, crude or refined, utilitarian or ceremonial, is a reflection and product of man's skills, his techniques, his arts. Artifacts reflect the ideas, the concepts, and the knowledge acquired or learned as a member of a tribe. Members of a particular tribe use certain techniques, and create a particular style because that is their tradition. |
