Original "Native Child and Dog" Navajo Pen Colored Pencil Sketch by Native American artist Frankie Nez  9434-PG

Original "Native Child and Dog" Navajo Pen Colored Pencil Sketch by Native American artist Frankie Nez.

This is not a reproduction, this is an original work of art! This is a true collectors item. This original sketch was created by master Navajo artist Frankie Nez. This sketch depicts many elements of the traditional and contemporary life of southwestern Native Americans. The Native Child and Dog help depict the traditional nature and culture of the lives of Native Americans in the southwest. Nez, like many Native Americans, travels between Arizona and New Mexico frequently, experiencing a wide variety of local environments and traditions from the reservations to the cities and from the deserts to the forests. Bringing these symbols together is an honest reflection of his experiences in the southwest, not to mention a lively work of art. This is brilliant, original sketch and will grasp the attention of anyone who goes by. It comes shrink-wrapped on a section of cardboard. The artwork is 14" by 17" and is signed and dated F. Nez, '03. This is your chance to own a true original Navajo artwork.

Frankie C. Nez is a full-blooded Navajo from Arizona. He comes from an artistic family and started drawing when he was about seven. Over the years he developed and refined his craft and has become a versatile and talented Navajo Indian artist. He skillfully works in a wide variety of media such as ink, color pencil, water color, and bead work. He also carves Kachina dolls and makes tomahawks. Nez does anything that comes to his imagination. He is well-known for his intricate details and exact, symmetrical compositions featuring traditional Navajo designs. Nez's work has been seen and sold throughout the southwest, in Mexico, and beyond. His inspiration mainly comes from his observations of life on the reservation.

We understand the true value and nature of hand crafted Indian art. And, we recognize it's important to know that the artist is truly a member of a Native American tribe. So, to ensure you that this is the real deal, a Certificate of Authenticity has been included with this item.
