Frankie C. Nez is a full-blooded Navajo from Arizona. He comes from an artistic family and started drawing when he was about seven. Over the years he developed and refined his craft and has become a versatile and talented Navajo Indian artist. He skillfully works in a wide variety of media such as ink, color pencil, water color, and bead work. He also carves Kachina dolls and makes tomahawks. Nez does anything that comes to his imagination. He is well-known for his intricate details and exact, symmetrical compositions featuring traditional Navajo designs. Nez's work has been seen and sold throughout the southwest, in Mexico, and beyond. His inspiration mainly comes from his observations of life on the reservation.
