Old Pawn Navajo Indian Jewelry Turquoise Sterling Silver Squash Blossom Necklace  0025-252650-SQNK

Navajo Indian Jewelry Turquoise Sterling Silver Squash Blossom Necklace.

This Navajo Indian Turquoise and Sterling Silver Squash Blossom Necklace is a gorgeous work of hand made Native American jewelry. This traditional squash blossom necklace was skillfully hand made out of Sterling Silver finished with the Santa Fe polish giving it the traditional old pawn look. This fine piece of Navajo jewelry was hand strung with rare, difficult to make and hard to find hand stamped bench beads of Sterling Silver. The hand cut, hand stamped Sterling Silver naja showcases hand cut cabochons of genuine Turquoise. Each Turquoise stone delivers its rich natural green hues and matrix. This Sterling Silver Squash Blossom Necklace is 24" long. The naja is 2-5/8" wide and 2-3/4" long making this necklace hang like it's 26" long. Stamped Sterling and signed by the Native American artist. Designs and Turquoise vary slightly, you will receive one from the two necklaces pictured below.

Turquoise is a highly sought-after mineral and is possibly the most valuable, non-transparent mineral in the jewelry trade. It has been mined for eons since at least 6000 BC by early Egyptians. Aztecs reserved turquoise for the gods and it was not to be worn by mere mortals. Its history also includes beautiful ornamental creations by Native Americans and Persians. Today, it is more popular than ever and its use around the world is prolific. The finest turquoise comes from Iran but is challenged by some southwestern United States specimens. The name comes from a French word, which means stone of Turkey, from where Persian material passed on its way to Europe.

We understand the true value and nature of hand crafted Indian art. And, we recognize that it is important to know that the artist is truly a member of a Native American tribe. So, to ensure you that this is the real deal, a Certificate of Authenticity has been included with this item.
