Navajo Turquoise Nugget Coral Silver Necklace
This necklace is a true beauty. It features sweet and petite nuggets of genuine sky blue Turquoise. All of these matching Turquoise nuggets still have their natural colors and markings. Vibrant beads of Red Gold Coral have been artfully strung between each trio of Turquoise nuggets. This necklace delivers a burst of primary color that makes it absolutely irresistible. Shimmering Sterling Silver cones adorn both sides of this one. It was strung in our shop by Navajo artist Berlinda Begay. Berlinda has a tremendous talent for bead work, and we're lucky to have her on the crew. This necklace is 17-1/2" long.

The Zuni believe that blue turquoise was male and of the sky and green turquoise was female and of the earth. Pueblo Indians thought that its color was stolen from the sky. In Hopi legend the lizard who travels between the above and the below, excretes turquoise and that the stone can hold back floods. The Apache felt that turquoise on a gun or bow made it shoot straight. The Navajo consider it as good fortune to wear and believe it could appease the Wind Spirit.
