This jewelry comes from one of the leading trading posts in the heart of the Indian Nation. Established over 35 years ago, the owners recently retired and liquidated $200,000 wholesale ($450,000 retail) of their inventory to Alltribes. They worked with some the best Navajo and Zuni jewelers and kept to the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship. This jewelry features unique designs and quality stones. It was made before silver went up and will have lower prices.
White Buffalo Turquoise is the name given to a special find of Turquoise from the Dry Creek Mine in Nevada. Turquoise without color is not an entirely different thing than blue or green Turquoise because the base chemical make up of the rock is the same, Aluma Phosphate. When the stone has more copper it becomes more blue; more iron, more green. When the concentrations of copper and iron are less, the Turquoise is paler in color and can eventually be totally white. Its found in the same area as the the other Turquoise and is fairly rare. Hard stones with inclusions of quartz or black minerals that are easy to cut and polish are most valued. To date, no other vein of gem quality white turquoise has been discovered anywhere else in the world. The name White Buffalo was given to the stone because it is as rare as the elusive White Buffalo of legend and myth.
