This concho belt was finely hand crafted with die struck conchos of nickel Silver for a high shine that won't easily tarnish. These nickel Silver conchos each have a traditional southwestern design that's highly fashionable. This concho belt will match up perfectly with any other Silver jewelry that's already in your collection. Made in Albuquerque, New Mexico by a good friend of Richard's. This Navajo design has sixteen individual conchos. Each concho is 1-5/8" wide and 2-1/4" long. The total length of this completely adjustable concho belt is 42-1/2".

Concho belts are one of the most striking articles of Indian Jewelry. Silver Concho belts connected only with silver links and no leather are one of the oldest types of Concho belts. Originally this design was worn from the hip down the side of the leg, not around the waist. They were worn as decorations during the dances and the silver conchos would jingle and bounce alongside the dancer. Later, a white trader converted the design into a belt which became very popular for its simplicity and adjustability.
