This hand made Navajo Jewelry is sensational. This stunning Native American Choker Necklace is made from beautiful Carico Lake Turquoise and Sterling Silver. It was masterfully hand cut out of shimmering Sterling Silver. Each hand made bezel holds a striking hand cut cabochon of genuine Carico Lake Turquoise. The Turquoise was all cut from the same rock so the segments match perfectly and present a wondrous cross section of the stone's character. The Turquoise and Sterling Silver centerpiece hangs on a box link chain for complete adjustability. The total length of this Turquoise Necklace is 16" long. The Navajo believe turquoise is a piece of the sky that has fallen to earth, and it is used as an offering to appease the wind. The Apache believe it combines the spirits of the sea and sky to help warriors and hunters aim accurately. For the Apache, turquoise is associated with the bringing of rain and could always be found at the end of a rainbow. The Zuni believe that blue turquoise was male and of the sky and green turquoise was female and of the earth. The Zuni, along with many other Native American groups, believed the stone could help protect them from demons or help a person feel intuitively the difference between good and evil as well as protect against accidents and various dangers.
