Native American Wild Horse Magnesite Sterling Silver Concho Belt 0201-CN
Native American Wild Horse Magnesite Sterling Silver Concho Belt.
The combination of natural materials and traditional artistry came together to make real treasure. This belt comes from a distinct Navajo tradition, belts characterized by large Turquoise slabs surrounded by Sterling Silver and linked or set on leather. This concho belt showcases genuine Wild Horse Magnesite, an Arizona stone with rich natural reddish browns swirling together with white magnesite. The rosy browns match the color of the leather belt perfectly and the whole belt has a sense of strength and togetherness. It was meant to be. The nine conchos are hand made with Sterling Silver on nickel silver backs and have been hand stamped with traditional designs. They are between 3" and 3-1/2" wide and average 3" tall. The buckle is 3-1/4" by 2-3/4" with a 1-1/4" keeper. Made in our shop. The leather belt can be cut to fit. Stamped Hand Made and signed by the artist with our hallmark.
Wild Horse is the marketing name for a new find of magnesite/hematite from the Gila Wilderness Area in Southern Arizona. Rich chocolate brown is actually the matrix in this unique stone and the antique white is the magnesite's natural color. This new Magnesite was discovered near Globe, Arizona while mining for other minerals. It is called Wild Horse because of its resemblance to the Pinto horses with brown on white patches known to roam free in the southwest and who were also a favorite horse of many Native Americans.
