Native American Turquoise Sterling Silver Concho Belt  0008-CN

Native American Turquoise Sterling Silver Concho Belt

This Native American Turquoise Silver Concho Belt is an incredible work of wearable art! This Turquoise Concho Belt was made in our shop, and it features a buckle, eight conchos, and nine butterflies. The buckle, each of the conchos, and each of the butterflies were hand made from a heavy gauge of shimmering Sterling Silver. The buckle and each of the eight conchos hold genuine nuggets of genuine Sleeping Beauty Turquoise. Each stone of this incredible Turquoise delivers natural sky blue colors to the Sterling Silver. Each concho features an impressive hand cut overlaid image of a traditional Native American Indian symbol. The symbols include the Bear paw, the Turtle, Birds, and the Yeibichai. The buckle on this concho belt is 3" by 3-1/2". Each of the eight conchos have a diameter of 2-1/2". Each of the nine butterflies are 7/8" wide and 2-3/8" long. The leather belt can be cut to fit. Send us your belt size. Stamped Sterling. Signed with our hallmark.

There are many legends about Turquoise; The Pima consider it to bring good fortune and strength and that it helped overcome illness. The Zuni believe that blue turquoise was male and of the sky and green turquoise was female and of the earth. Pueblo Indians thought that its color was stolen from the sky. In Hopi legend the lizard who travels between the above and the below, excretes turquoise and that the stone can hold back floods. The Apache felt that turquoise on a gun or bow made it shoot straight. The Navajo consider it as good fortune to wear and believe it could appease the Wind Spirit.

We understand the true value and nature of hand crafted Indian art. And, we recognize it's important to know that the artist is truly a member of a Native American tribe. So, to ensure you that this is the real deal, a Certificate of Authenticity has been included with this item.
