Native American Turquoise Cluster Sterling Silver Squash Blossom Necklace & Earring Set by Julia Williams  1302-SQNK-ST

Native American Turquoise Cluster Sterling Silver Squash Blossom Necklace & Earring Set.

A beautiful example of the traditional beauty of Silver and Turquoise. This Navajo Squash Blossom Necklace and Earring Set is a gorgeous work of hand made Native American jewelry. It was skillfully hand made out of Sterling Silver and set with hand cut cabochons of gorgeous block Turquoise into traditional Pueblo Indian cluster designs. It was hand strung onto high tension wire with Sterling Silver bench beads which provide extra shine. The breathtaking natural cool blue shades of the Turquoise come alive against the white shine of Sterling Silver. The matching hook earrings are 1-3/4" long and 7/8" wide. The Sterling Silver Squash Blossom Necklace is 22-1/2" long. The naja is 2-3/8" wide and 2-3/4" long making this necklace hang like it's 24-3/4" long. Stamped Sterling and signed by the Navajo jewelry artist Julia Williams.

There are many legends about Turquoise; The Pima consider it to bring good fortune and strength and that it helped overcome illness. The Zuni believe that blue turquoise was male and of the sky and green turquoise was female and of the earth. Pueblo Indians thought that its color was stolen from the sky. In Hopi legend the lizard who travels between the above and the below, excretes turquoise and that the stone can hold back floods. The Apache felt that turquoise on a gun or bow made it shoot straight. The Navajo consider it as good fortune to wear and believe it could appease the Wind Spirit.

We understand the true value and nature of hand crafted Indian art. And, we recognize that it is important to know that the artist is truly a member of a Native American tribe. So, to ensure you that this is the real deal, a Certificate of Authenticity has been included with this item.
