Native American Genuine Turquoise Sterling Silver Bench Bead Santa Fe Choker Necklace.
This same design was featured on the runway in a Ralph Lauren collection. It carries large, hand cut triangular cabochons of genuine Turquoise. This gorgeous Turquoise was selected for its brilliant sky blue hues and natural matrix. The silver work was hand made from Sterling Silver and given a traditional Santa Fe satin finish. Elegant Sterling Silver feathers, flowers, and twist wire give this necklace artful detail and a traditional character. Hand strung with 8mm Sterling Silver bench beads. This choker necklace is 18" long. Made in our shop. Stamped Sterling and signed by the artist. An extension chain can be included with this item for $5.00 per inch. The Zuni believe that blue turquoise was male and of the sky and green turquoise was female and of the earth. Pueblo Indians thought that its color was stolen from the sky. In Hopi legend the lizard who travels between the above and the below, excretes turquoise and that the stone can hold back floods. The Apache felt that turquoise on a gun or bow made it shoot straight. The Navajo consider it as good fortune to wear and believe it could appease the Wind Spirit.
