Native American Genuine Turquoise Cluster Sterling Silver Ceremonial Necklace.
Hand made by Navajo artist Julia Williams. This necklace is an impressive piece of Native American jewelry. It features a large traditional southwestern Indian cluster design made from hand cut cabochons of genuine Turquoise. Each of these Turquoise stones have been set onto long hand cut bands of Sterling Silver and surrounded by hand twisted Sterling Silver wire and hand made Sterling drops. A box link chain has been included for complete adjustability. The total length of this necklace is about 22" long and the center cluster has a diameter of 3". Stamped Sterling and Signed by the artist J W. Turquoise stones may vary slightly, you'll receive one from the two hand made necklaces pictured below.
There are many legends about Turquoise; The Pima consider it to bring good fortune and strength and believe that it helps overcome illness. The Zuni believe that blue turquoise was male and of the sky and green turquoise was female and of the earth. Pueblo Indians thought that its color was stolen from the sky. In Hopi legend the lizard who travels between the above and the below, excretes turquoise and that the stone can hold back floods. The Apache felt that turquoise on a gun or bow made it shoot straight. The Navajo consider it as good fortune to wear and believe it could appease the Wind Spirit.
