Native American Genuine Sleeping Beauty Turquoise Cluster Sterling Silver Concho Belt

This is Navajo craftsmanship at its finest! This concho belt was made with a Turquoise and Sterling Silver buckle and ten Turquoise and Sterling Silver conchos that have been hand stamped with traditional southwestern designs. The buckle and conchos each have a scalloped edge and hold a cluster of genuine natural Sleeping Beauty (Tiffany of) Turquoise nuggets. Each piece of this beautiful, sky blue Turquoise has been hand cut and set in individually hand made Sterling Silver bezels that were sweated to the buckle and conchos. The buckle is 2-1/4" by 3-3/8". The conchos are 2" by 3". The 48-1/4" leather belt can be cut to fit. Just send us your belt size in the comment box as you check out. Stamped Sterling, signed by the Navajo artist, who has been making this belt and related pieces (bolo ties, bracelets, etc.) for 25 years. You will be receiving the item in the pictures below.

There are many legends about Turquoise; The Pima consider it to bring good fortune and strength and that it helped overcome illness. The Zuni believe that blue turquoise was male and of the sky and green turquoise was female and of the earth. Pueblo Indians thought that its color was stolen from the sky. In Hopi legend the lizard who travels between the above and the below, excretes turquoise and that the stone can hold back floods. The Apache felt that turquoise on a gun or bow made it shoot straight. The Navajo consider it as good fortune to wear and believe it could appease the Wind Spirit.

We understand the true value and nature of hand crafted Indian art. And, we recognize important to know that the artist is truly a member of a Native American tribe. So, to ensure you that this is the real deal, a Certificate of Authenticity has been included with this item.
