This Native American-crafted necklace is formed of genuine Magnesite Turquoise back-to-back circular beads 3/8" by 1/4" making up almost half the length of the necklace. The hand-cut Turquoise beads increase in size to 1/4" by 3/8", at which point they alternate with 5 hand-made Sterling Silver Aztec-pattern bench beads that measure 10mm. The Sterling Silver hook-eye and comb clasp is resilient and easy to connect. This piece of Native American artistry is an eye-catching item of jewelry perfect for a unique sense of style. Turquoise has been, since about 200 B.C., extensively used by southwestern U.S Native Americans and by many of the Indian tribes in Mexico. The Native American Jewelry or "Indian style" jewelry with turquoise mounted in or with silver is relatively new. Some believe this style of Jewelry was unknown prior to about 1880, when a white trader persuaded a Navajo craftsman to make turquoise and silver jewelry using coin silver.
