This squash blossom necklace is an impressive work of art. This impressive necklace features traditional overlaid designs on a heavy gauge of shimmering Sterling Silver. This one has been dressed with gorgeous hand cut oval cabochons of genuine Gaspeite. The Gaspeite stones deliver their natural green shades to the Sterling Silver blossoms. A double strand of Sterling Silver beads gives this necklace an extra high shine. This squash blossom necklace is 27-1/2" long. The naja is 2-1/2" wide and 3-1/2" long. The matching post earrings are 1-3/4" long. Stamped Sterling.
Gaspeite- It is Nickel Magnesium Iron Carbonate and it is in the Calcite group and is found near deposits of Nickel Sulfide. The brilliant green color has given it great value as a gemstone. Gaspeite is a rare mineral found in significant amounts only in Canada and Australia. It gets the name Gaspeite from the Gaspe' Peninsula in Quebec, Canada.
