Native American Gaspeite Cluster Sterling Silver Ceremonial Necklace.
This necklace is an impressive piece of hand made Native American jewelry. This necklace features a traditional southwestern Pueblo Indian cluster design made from hand cut cabochons of genuine Gaspeite. These Gaspeite stones have been set against the brilliance of Sterling Silver. This incredible necklace features long hand cut bands of Sterling Silver and hand twisted Sterling Silver wires. A box link chain has been included for complete flexibility. The total length of this necklace is 20-3/4" long. The center cluster has a diameter of 1-1/2". The matching French hook earrings are 2-1/2" long. The earrings can be seen dangling from the sides of the necklace in the photo. Stamped Sterling.
Gaspeite- It is Nickel Magnesium Iron Carbonate and it is in the Calcite group and is found near deposits of Nickel Sulfide. The brilliant green color has given it great value as a gemstone. Gaspeite is a rare mineral found in significant amounts only in Canada and Australia. It gets the name Gaspeite from the Gaspe' Peninsula in Quebec, Canada.
