Limited Edition Canvas Transfer "Indian Bar Scene" Native American Oil Painting by Rance Hood 0075-8003-PG
Limited Edition Canvas Transfer "Indian Bar Scene" Native American Oil Painting by Rance Hood.
What a work of art! A true collectors item. This print is a high quality canvas transfer in which a thick copy is taken from the original and transfered to another canvas for an amazing print that looks just like an original painting. The image was created by master artist Rance Hood and artfully depicts a stylized Native American casually drinking his beer in an Indian bar. On the wall behind him to the right, faint graffiti mocks the patron's appearance. The caricature on the wall holds a pool cue beside his large pot belly, surrounded by slang and racist names for Native Americans. Behind the cracked front window of the bar, a woman and her child hold their hands against glass to block out the light and look inside the dive. Is she looking for her husband? This is an enigmatic composition full of style and atmosphere. Hood's exceptional use of line and color bring this scene to life. His commentary on Indian life is as charming as it is poignant and shows us his somber side. This print comes from a limited edition and is number 465 of 500. It is mounted on a wooden canvas backing but is not framed. It is 19" tall by 19" wide.
"The first peace...is that which comes within the souls of men when they realize their [relationship] with the universe and all its Powers...is really everywhere, it is within each of us." (Oglala Lakota)
