Limited Edition Bison Hunter Wall Mount Kindred Spirit Mask.
This artifact is a wild and extraordinary display piece! This impressive wall mount comes from Native American artists Super Moon and Black Wolf. It is part of a limited edition, number 215 of 500, and features a hand painted lost wax image of an American Indian Bison Hunter. This stunning Bison Hunter is full of intricate natural textures, life-like detail, and a generous portion of genuine horse hair and bison mane. His face is painted a deep aqua-blue and glows from within the bison mane headdress. The black designs over his eyes end in flame like points creating a menacing presence that would be a terrifying sight during battle. A genuine deer horn button, buckskin leather, and trade beads give this fine artifact extra adornment. This wall mount has a rustic hand cut wooden base. The base is 15-3/4" wide by 20-1/2" long and signed by the artist. Including the horns and the horse hair, this Indian mask is 15-1/2" wide and about 30" long.
Native Americans have always felt a special connection to nature. The belief that all things in nature have a spirit is an integral part of their religions. Like the Zuni, many tribes believe that animals are more powerful than people and more like deities than man. Adorning tools, artwork, and themselves with images and symbols of animals is one way of channeling the animal's spirit and acquiring its characteristics and powers. They may provide protection, enhance strength, or increase perception and awareness.
