Large Old Western Wells Fargo & Co. Lock & Keys 0122-4188-LOCK

This Wells, Fargo & Co. padlock and keys set is an incredibly well made replication of a true piece of American History. It's a big one, too, made exactly the way they fashioned them in the old west. This lock was made from iron and it's meant to last a lifetime! The engraved plate on the front says, "Property of Wells, Fargo & Co. Express San Francisco Division". It comes with a pair of matching skeleton keys, and the lock really works. The lock is 5-1/4" by 9-1/4". The keys are both 4-3/4" long. Be careful handling this set as it's a bit rusty.
This is a well-made collectible of the old west. Henry Wells and William Fargo founded Wells, Fargo & Co. out in San Francisco in the midst of the California gold rush. They provided banking services and financial security for people out in the Wild West during the times of runaway outlaws and train robbers. In the 1860's Wells Fargo gained fame for its company logo of a stagecoach. In 1861, the company ran the western track of the Pony Express. Wells Fargo survived the Wild West and its founding fathers and is still in operation today. |
