Large Native American Turquoise Lapis Coral Spiny Oyster Gaspeite Sterling Silver Cross Pendant  1278-NK

Large Native American Turquoise Lapis Coral Spiny Oyster Gaspeite Sterling Silver Cross Pendant.

This stunning pendant and beaded necklace is a true work of wearable art. The center prominently features a variety of large cabochons made from genuine Turquoise, Lapis, Coral, Spiny Oyster, and Gaspeite. This sensational pendant was made by Navajo jewelry artist Ella Peter. She hand-made this one out of shimmering Sterling Silver, providing an attractive high shine frame for the amazing collection of high grade stones. Sterling Silver drops fit between the stones for extra detail. Signed by the Navajo jewelry artist Ella Peter and stamped Sterling. Including the large 1" bail, the pendant is 3-1/2" long and 2-1/2" wide. This piece comes with an 18" three strand necklace hand-strung with a bedazzling array of beads made from Turquoise, Coral, Onyx, Lapis, Rose Quartz and more. The necklace is finished on both ends with Sterling Silver bench beads and Sterling hook-eye and comb clasps. You will be getting the brilliant necklace pictured below.

Turquoise is a highly sought-after mineral and is possibly the most valuable, non-transparent mineral in the jewelry trade. It has been mined for eons since at least 6000 BC by early Egyptians. Its history also includes beautiful ornamental creations by Native Americans and Persians. Its popularity is still quite strong today. Although crystals of any size are rare, some small crystals have been found in Virginia and elsewhere. Most specimens are crypto crystalline, meaning that the crystals could only be seen by a microscope. The finest turquoise comes from Iran but is challenged by some southwestern United States specimens. The name comes from a French word, which means stone of Turkey, from where Persian material passed on its way to Europe.

We understand the true value and nature of hand crafted Indian art. And, we recognize it's important to know that the artist is truly a member of a Native American tribe. So, to ensure you that this is the real deal, a Certificate of Authenticity has been included with this item.
