Large Native American Turquoise Lapis Coral Spiny Oyster Gaspeite Sterling Silver Cross Pendant Necklace  0068-NK-SET

Large Native American Turquoise Lapis Coral Spiny Oyster Gaspeite Sterling Silver Cross Pendant Necklace.

This stunning pendant and beaded necklace is a true work of wearable art. The center prominently features a variety of large cabochons hand cut from genuine Turquoise, Lapis, Coral, Spiny Oyster, and Gaspeite. This sensational pendant was made by Navajo jewelry artist Bea Tom. She hand made this one out of shimmering Sterling Silver providing an attractive high shine frame for the amazing collection of high grade stones. Sterling Silver drops fit between the stones for extra detail. Signed by the Navajo jeweler Bea Tom and stamped Sterling. Including the large 3/4" bail, the pendant is 3-1/8" long and 2-1/4" wide. This piece comes with a 21" three strand necklace hand strung with another bedazzling array of beads made from Turquoise, Coral, Onyx, Lapis, Rose Quartz and more. The necklace is finished on both ends with Sterling Silver bench beads and Sterling hooks and eyes. You will be getting one from the group of brilliant necklaces pictured below. The design is the same but the combination of stones and colors vary slightly.

Turquoise is a highly sought-after mineral and is possibly the most valuable, non-transparent mineral in the jewelry trade. It has been mined for eons since at least 6000 BC by early Egyptians. Aztecs reserved turquoise for the gods and it was not to be worn by mere mortals. Its history also includes beautiful ornamental creations by Native Americans and Persians. Today, it is more popular than ever and its use around the world is prolific. The finest turquoise comes from Iran but is challenged by some southwestern United States specimens. The name comes from a French word, which means stone of Turkey, from where Persian material passed on its way to Europe.

We understand the true value and nature of hand crafted Indian art. And, we recognize it's important to know that the artist is truly a member of a Native American tribe. So, to ensure you that this is the real deal, a Certificate of Authenticity has been included with this item.
