Large Native American Genuine Turquoise Onyx Sterling Silver Cross Pendant Necklace Set 2597-NK
Native American Turquoise Onyx Sterling Silver Cross Pendant Necklace Set
This Turquoise Onyx Sterling Silver Cross Pendant Necklace Set is a sensational pairing of jewelry that's highly elegant and fashionable. The necklace and pendant have been finely hand-made out of shining Sterling Silver. Each Turquoise nugget is approximately 5/8" long and delivers its green and tan shades to these. The 20" necklace is made of genuine Turquoise stones and genuine Onyx beads of approximately 5-16" in diameter. Two onyx beads separate each of the Turquoise stones and in the very center of the necklace where there are two Sterling Silver beads is where the pendant would hang. The cross pendant has 6 genuine Turquoise stones separated by Sterling Silver balls. It is 3-1/2" to 4" long and 1-1/2" to 1-3/4" wide. The Sterling Silver has been dressed with hand-cut stones of genuine Turquoise. Although these two items come as a set, they do not have to be worn together; the necklace looks great alone or with a different pendant, and the cross pendant can be worn on another necklace, so these jewelry pieces are especially versatile! Turquoise and Sterling Silver is a traditional combination that can't go wrong. The pendant suspends from a large hand-patterned loop that will allow it to be worn with a necklace with larger beads, up to approximately 1/2" in diameter. These items were created in our shop, stamped Sterling and signed with our hallmark.
Turquoise has been used for personal adornment in many countries all over the world. Among those who have worn it are the Persians, Tibetans, Greeks, Romans, Aztecs, Incas and of course the Native Americans of our own Southwest, who have been mining and wearing it since the time of Christ. Turquoise has decorated the thrones of Kings, been inlaid in the crowns of royalty and appeared in the crown jewels of many countries. During the 15th century the Queen of France gave a gold ring set with Turquoise to King James IV of Scotland as a pledge of friendship. When Queen Elizabeth of England was married, her gift from the President of Mexico was an exact replica of a prehistoric Nahuate (Aztec) brooch of gold inlaid with Turquoise.
