Hand Made Traditional Navajo Indian Genuine Kingman Turquoise Silver Concho Adjustable Link Belt.
This is the perfect compliment to any outfit, a great accessory to complete that southwest look. A Navajo made, nickel silver concho belt, this is the classic look of the southwest. The shimmer and shine of the polished conchos, it doesn't get any better than that. Joey hand cut each of these concho's from nickel silver for a high shine that won't tarnish. Each of the fifteen Sterling Silver Concho's are hand-stamped and die-struck in our shop and are linked together for an adjustable length (including the hand-made chain extension). The traditional designs are hand stamped and each of the links are hand made. Made in our shop. Total length of the belt is 42" (adjustable) and each Silver concho is 2-1/4" by 1-1/2" and adorned with a genuine green-brown Kingman Turquoise cabochon for a great Santa Fe look. This concho belt can be finished for either a Santa Fe look (satin finish) or we can give it high shine for a more contemporary look. Stamped hand made and signed with our hallmark by the artist.
Concho belts are one of the most striking articles of Indian Jewelry. Silver Concho belts connected only with silver links and no leather are one of the oldest types of Concho belts. Originally this design was worn from the hip down the side of the leg, not around the waist. They were worn as decorations during the dances and the silver conchos would jingle and bounce alongside the dancer. Later, a white trader converted the design into a belt which became very popular for its simplicity and adjustability.
