Pre 40s Genuine Buffalo Head Nickel Belt Buckle.
This is an incredible buckle! This buckle is made entirely out of genuine Buffalo Nickels. These Buffalo Nickels have been artistically sweated together into layers not unlike the ancient Aztec pyramids. For added unity the front of the belt features the Buffalo side of the nickels and the back features the Native American side of the nickels. This incredible work of wearable was made in our shop. This buckle is 2-3/8" by 3-1/4" with a 1-1/2" keeper on the back.
No animal has ever given so much to a people as the largest and most spectacular creature of North America, the great American bison. The Plains Indians depended upon the buffalo for food, shelter, and clothing. The Indian male revered, studied and imitated them, and eventually gave them religious qualities. The medicine men called upon the powers of the "spirit buffalo" to help them in rituals. POWER...STRENGTH...PROSPERITY.
