Genuine Turquoise Sterling Silver Custom Scalloped Concho Western Saddle Set

Attention Lady Wranglers and Desperados!!! This exceptional set of saddle conchos is perfect for a designer look during shows and rodeo events. This set of traditional Western saddle conchos was custom-made by Lucky, a silversmith with decades of experience. A large circular blue-green genuine Turquoise stone is set in the center of each Sterling Silver concho. The Sterling Silver is decorated with twisted wire and hand-stamped patterns around the scalloped edges. These conchos are in four different sizes: there are three conchos at 2" in diameter, ten at 1-3/4" in diameter, ten at 1-1/2" in diameter and sixteen at 1-1/4" in diameter. Each concho is attached to the saddle with a Chicago screw, which is included. The conchos are stamped Sterling and signed by Lucky. In addition to the conchos are 7 genuine mercury dimes that can adorn your saddle. The photos below show the exact conchos you will be receiving and how you can arrange them on your saddle. Saddle not included. There is only one custom-made-by-Lucky set of these conchos already made, so don't miss out on these. However, if you'd like to have your own custom order made, call us with your preferences for design and allow 3 to 4 weeks for us to make it for you so you can dress up your saddle with conchos and be the star of the show!

The cowboy was born in 1866 with the first herd of Texas longhorns. They trailed across hundreds of miles of wild and dangerous country, filled with predators and hostile Indians, to the wide open town of Abilene, which was created by the Kansas Pacific Railroad as the western frontier railhead for shipping cattle East. From then on the big Texas cattle drives fed the market for a beef-hungry America. Six hundred thousand cattle came up the Texas trail in 1871 in herds of about 2,000, each led by a wild, reckless and tough bunch of young men with great courage and fortitude. Huge numbers of longhorn cattle had multiplied in Texas after the Civil War as the result of few predators, few fences and plenty of grass and water. They ran wild while Texas men went off to fight for the Confederacy. Cow-gathering was a challenge, but getting a herd all the way to the Kansas railroad paid big. Early cowboys had very little food (mostly corn meal and salted bacon), used homemade saddles and chaps, no tents or tarps, braided their own rope from horsehair, and bragged they could go any place a cow could and stand anything a horse could. A saddle blanket and a coat made up the Texas trail bed. The twelve-inch-barrel Colt was necessary equipment. Strong, lightweight and wiry men who persevered and were loyal defined a new American spirit of freedom and independence. Mothers shared great pride in seeing their sons grow up to be cowboys.

Top 10 rodeo superstitions

1: A saddle bronc rider always puts the right foot in the stirrup first.

2: Never kick a paper cup thrown down at a rodeo.

3: Cowgirls often wear different colored socks on each foot, for luck.

4: Don't compete with change in your pocket because that's all you might win.

5: Never put your hat on a bed -- you may be seriously injured or killed.

6: Eating a hotdog before the competition brings good luck.

7: Never read your horoscope on competition day.

8: Never eat peanuts or popcorn in the arena.

9: Always shave before the competition.

10: Never wear yellow in the arena -- it will bring bad luck.
