Genuine Turquoise & Launa Shell Native American Heishi Bead Silver Necklace Navajo Made  0373-BNK

Genuine Turquoise & Launa Shell Native American Heishi Bead Silver Necklace Navajo Made.

This Genuine Turquoise, Launa shell, and Heishi Bead Necklace is just full of natural beauty. It is hand strung in our shop by Navajo jewelry artist Lulu. This necklace features hand cut nuggets of genuine Turquoise hand strung in an alternating pattern with genuine Launa shell. This vibrant Turquoise is full of natural sky blue and blue-green hues. Just like snowflakes, no two Turquoise stones are exactly alike making every Turquoise necklace a true one of a kind piece of wearable art. The Turquoise comes alive against the contrasting light orange colors of the of the Launa shell. Heishi beads made by hand from genuine Penn Shell artfully complete the pattern and the ends of this one are finished with brilliant Sterling Silver cones. This Navajo Indian Turquoise necklace is 26-1/2" long and hand strung by Navajo artist Lulu.

Turquoise has been, since about 200 B.C., extensively used by southwestern U.S Native Americans and by many of the Indian tribes in Mexico. The Native American Jewelry or "Indian style" jewelry with turquoise mounted in or with silver is relatively new. Some believe this style of Jewelry was unknown prior to about 1880, when a white trader persuaded a Navajo craftsman to make turquoise and silver jewelry using coin silver. Prior to this time, the Native Americans had made solid turquoise beads, necklaces, carvings, and inlaid mosaics. Recently, turquoise has found wide acceptance among people of all walks of life and from many different ethnic groups.

We understand the true value and nature of hand crafted Indian art. And, we recognize it's important to know that the artist is truly a member of a Native American tribe. So, to ensure you that this is the real deal, a Certificate of Authenticity has been included with this item.
