Hand selected Ostrich hides free of any flaws or defects make this one a real beauty. The inside surface is lined with soft leather. This Ostrich leather belt is 1-1/4" wide with both ends tapered to 1". Made by a friend of Richard's who supplies leather belts and other goods for Alltribes as well as gift stores in Arizona. Ranch Ostrich - Not an endangered species. These large birds are raised on farms in South Africa as well as Arizona. After processing the meat for food, the hides are tanned to preserve softness and maximize relief of the quill openings. These quill bumps give the hide remarkable character and are formed ultimately by the tremendous size of the feathers. In addition to its beauty, Ostrich leather is quite durable and will provide many years of functional use. This belt will require very little care, but a regular application of leather care will preserve the the leather's natural qualities.
