Genuine Hopi Indian Hand Carved Eagle Dancer Kachina Doll by Milton Howard 0011-MKD
Genuine Hopi Indian Hand Carved Eagle Dancer Kachina Doll by Milton Howard
By Milton Howard, Hopi Indian, master Kachina carver. This Eagle Kachina is superb in detail. It looks like one solid piece with the exception of the bells and a few small feathers on his head. The detail is exceptional. From the fine lines of the feather work, the beaded look in the ankle bracelets to the carving of his toenails. The time and effort and talent is evident with every stroke of this carver. Milton uses stain to bring out the natural wood grain of the customary cottonwood root, along with paint to enhance and show more detail. He takes the time, and you can only imagine the patience it must demand, to feature and enhance every tiny detail line.
The Eagle is the ruler of the sky and the messenger to the heavens. This sacred Kachina is the overseer of all of the Kachinas and is a honored guest who receives many presents. Their plumage is incredibly beautiful and the Eagle represents strength and power. According to the Hopi, he is one of the main dancers in the Solstice Parade. The Eagle is extremely popular because of his hand-carved feathers. HAND-CARVED, HAND-PAINTED, HOPI INDIAN KACHINA DOLL!!!

During religious ceremonies, the Hopi Indians dress up in the elaborate costumes of Kachinas in a celebration of the harmony of creation. Now you can bring all the drama and color of the mystical Hopi Kachina Doll into your own home! This authentic Hopi Kachina Doll is beautifully hand-carved, then painstakingly hand-painted and hand-decorated down to the tiniest feather. This Hopi Kachina Doll is personally signed by the artist.
