Eskimo, Beaded Buckskin Indian MITTENS 3329-NC
Richard wished he had a apir of these running his trading posts in Purgatory Silverton, Colorado. They've been around a campfire a few times you can smell it. These mittens are just like the kind the Eskimos use. However, we can't tell for sure if they're Eskimo or not. This is definitely an old pair too, but we can't tell the age. They were masterfully hand crafted out of genuine soft buckskin leather. The inside of each one has been lined with genuine fur making them easy to wear. The sides to each mitten have genuine buckskin fringe for adornment. Plus, the backs are dressed with some finely hand made seed bead work. These are true works of art. They are each 11-1/4" long and 5-3/4" wide. The objects man makes are called artifacts, and every artifact, whether it is beautiful or ugly, crude or refined, utilitarian or ceremonial, is a reflection and product of man's skills, his techniques, his arts. Artifacts reflect the ideas, the concepts, and the knowledge acquired or learned as a member of a tribe. Members of a particular tribe use certain techniques, and create a particular style because that is their tradition. Certificate of Authenticity The only reason why we can't offer you a Cerificate is because we didn't buy it directly from the artist. We believe it's Indian made, but we can't guarantee it. Anybody that's an expert on these sorts of things please e-mail us so that we may be better informed. |
