Contemporary Inlaid Opal Amethyst Rhinestone Sterling Silver Bracelet. 3496-BR
Contemporary Inlaid Opal Amethyst Rhinestone Sterling Silver Bracelet.
This bracelet is a beautiful piece of hand crafted jewelry. Richard took this one on a trade so we are not sure exactly what the stone in the center is, however, we believe it to be Amethyst. Either way, this is a beautiful beautiful bracelet. It just sparkles with color. It features a sterling silver hinged cuff with clasp and a beautiful inlaid lab Opal design. Rhinestones and the beautiful stone in the middle all add up to make this one very gorgeous bracelet. It is 1/2" wide at the center and will fit up to a 6 3/4" wrist.
Amethyst was used as a gemstone by the ancient Egyptians and was largely employed in antiquity for intaglios. Beads of amethyst are found in Anglo-Saxon graves in England. It is a widely distributed mineral, but fine, clear specimens that are suitable for cutting as ornamental stones are confined to comparatively few localities. Such crystals occur either in the cavities of mineral-veins and in granitic rocks, or as a lining in agate geodes.
